Salary based on the Boerne ISD Teacher Step Scale. Consideration for directly related experience supported by an official service record or experience affidavit. Annualized pay may be pro-rated based on actual start date.

* Position eligible for $10,000 annual athletic trainer stipend. 

 

Position Summary

Provide comprehensive athletic training services to support the health, safety, and performance of student-athletes. Plan, coordinate, and oversee all components of the district’s athletic training program, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols. Work under the direction of the team physician and in collaboration with coaches, administrators, and medical professionals to recognize, assess, manage, and recondition athletic injuries and illnesses while promoting safe participation in athletic activities.

Working Conditions

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard instructional equipment, including personal computer and peripherals. Exercise equipment and devices including stationary bike, pulleys, weights, whirlpool, paraffin bath, ultrasound equipment, and cold packs; automated external defibrillator (AED).

Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.

Motion:  Frequent walking, including frequent keyboarding/use of mouse; occasional reaching.

Lifting: Frequently moderate lifting or carrying (15-44 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and athletic equipment.

Environment: Work outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather) and inside; exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases; frequent districtwide and statewide travel

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
