Qualifications

Experience
2 years clerical experience (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Answer telephone system and intercom phone.
- Place calls in voice mail & locate staff as appropriate.
- Assist parents, students or any other visitors who come to the front office.
- Communication center for any major emergencies or disasters.
- Communicating messages to security and custodial staff via radio.
- Make announcements on intercom as necessary.
- Daily recording of all activities.
- Manually operate the bells on days when the regular bell schedule is not being followed.
- Monitor the alarm system panel for emergencies and follow various procedures to contact the proper administrators.
- Perform other duties as assigned by assistant principal or principal.
Other:
- Work with the phone service system on any repairs or problems with the phones.
- Record all greetings & instructions for phone system and set up voice mail for all new faculty & staff.
- Train all faculty & staff on use of the phone & intercom system.
- Monitor vending machines.
- Assist with all office mailings.
- Assist with new student data entry as requested.
- Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
- Adheres to good safety practices.
- Adheres to all district rules, regulations and policies.
- Attend meetings and work overtime as required.
- Maintain confidentiality.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
- Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
- Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stressā
